Learn and Keep Learning - Part of my horse journey

Updated: May 27

Over the years I have taught myself many things, from DIY, dressmaking, computers, web design, motor mechanics, playing the guitar and a favourite singing just to mention a few. To follow on and develop my skills in horsemanship was no different to learning any other subject I had taught myself…

Obtaining certificates to say I can do this where no law is relevant never entered my mind until people started asking “where did you do your training”? Being self-taught and experienced no longer seems to be acceptable for many areas of horsemanship, people like to see qualifications. Taking this to heart I set out to start putting my already learned knowledge to paper at Greenwich University.

Obtaining a BSc Degree in Equine Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, the learning is presentations and lectures a bit of practice and sometimes a dissection but then back to learning and more research the same way I have always done. Read, Learn, Apply and Remember.

This page has been created to show areas I have trained myself over the years and with research during obtaining a BSc Degree, this is just a fraction of the research I did to reach my first book The Equine Semaphore Code - the horse talks back. I hope you find not only the book of value in your expanding your equine knowledge, but also the journals that support the book listed below!

To find anything particular in this growing list click ‘Ctrl +F’ on your keyboard and type a word (such as ‘hoof’ or ‘laminitis’) and hit enter, it will take you to references relating to your keyword. This page is not going to be of value to everyone, but those who are looking and searching for good learning sources or even if you are in University at the moment, it will be of value to you. It is not listed in any reference style.

Book

Self-taught most of the time! Thank you to all who choose to share their knowledge publicly! Learn and Keep Learning! The Greatest Teachers are our Horses! (ツ) It’s all about the Horse!
